1:30 First Race
Preview (by
Bet365, best odds): Inghwung, Aux Le Bahn and Another Brother
make up the short-list with Noel Chance's runner preferred. The selection was
short of peak fitness when making a belated return to action over course and
distance last month. However, he still travelled well for a long way and managed
to come home a length in front of beaten favourite Another Brother. The O'Neill
runner should have more to offer but it's hard to see him reversing the form
with the selection who looks the better hurdling prospect. Double Shot and
Captain Tidds are improving with experience and should appreciate this step up
in trip but Inghwung has achieved more to date and has yet to run a bad race.
She saw out an extended 3 miles at Newbury well enough for this drop back in
trip to be a slight concern and she may have to settle for a minor role behind
Aux Le Bahn.
4:40 Last Race
Preview (by
Bet365, best odds): Lou De Moulin Mas may
prove hard to beat but we'll oppose him with Dead-Eyed Dick. Honourable Spider
and Knife Edge finished first and third in last year's renewal but both may have
to settle for minor honours today. Lou De Moulin Mas had an unenviable record of
near misses to his name under Rules but benefited from a wind operation and
scored twice in 2006. He struggled to impose himself in better company from his
revised mark subsequently but should find plenty of opportunities in this
sphere. Dead-Eyed Dick has around a stone to find with him on the form that he
showed for Nick Williams at the end of last season but may be able to get
competitive today. He won seven times during his career under Rules between two
and a half and four miles on a variety of ground. He should be staying on
strongly at the finish and Dead-Eyed Dick may be able to hit the target.
