Footballer of the Year
The Italian capitan Fabio Cannavaro
had been named the European Footballer of 2006. He defeated
Gianluigi Buffon and Thierry Henry to the title, announced
on Monday. He won the title, organized by France Football
Magazine, by 52 journalists votes. Cannavaro paid tribute to
his troubled team - Juventus.
