Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is accusing
Roman Abramovich of stifling the competitiveness of European
football. The chairman of Bayern blames Abramovich for
spending too much on soccer players transfers and huge
television rights. According to Rummenigge - there could be
no competition among the European teams, when the Russian
billionaire sweeps out the market every year.
In a separate attack, he opened up a
split in the ranks of the G14 group of elite clubs by
branding the English, Italian and Spanish members as
'selfish'. He also said that Bayern is considering pulling
out of the G14 group. 'Everybody in the G14 thinks only
about themselves.'
