FA and the
foreign ownership
The football association cannot do
anything about the foreign ownership, said Brian Barwick,
the chief executive of the association. He insisted the FA
were powerless to intervene, and that the clubs have to
follow strict business rules. As soon as West Ham is taken
over by an Icelandic consortium - the number of foreign own
clubs in the Premier League will be five. Others are
Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Portsmouth.
