Cricket: England back on home turf
Peter Moores, the new England cricket team
coach, is focusing on winning back the reputation of the team and the
First test against West Indies on Thursday.
The game will be played on home turf, and
the team has a real chance to win back respect lost at the poor
performance at the World Cup. Moores, who was previously in charge of
the England Academy, has taken over from Fletcher, who was at the helm
for eight years.
The players expressed eagerness to prove
themselves to the new coach and are confident in an upcoming long
winning streak. "The guys have been buzzing around in fielding practice
and are keen to get out there and do that on the pitch as well",
stand-in skipper Andrew Strauss was quoted saying. |
