Uefa to
investigate the Manchester U. crush scare
Uefa had officially launched an
investigation into the crush scare which occurred during the
game between Manchester United and Lille, which was won 1-0
by the English club. In the rumble, Manchester United fans
were pushed against the 10 feet high fence, some of them
jumping it over, scare of being crushed. At least 2 people
had to be lifted to safety. French riot police fired teargas
into the crowd, trying to prevent the fans from jumping it
over. Uefa is investigating possible violations of the
safety and security by the host. At this time it is clearly
ruled out any possible expulsion of the French team to the
like of the Feyenoord.Many
people who were present at the game are criticizing the
French police, claiming that they were wrongfully treated
from the very beginning.
